This book examines the causes and dynamics of non-performing loans (NPLs) in Bangladesh, drawing on evidence from selected state-owned and private commercial banks. Combining primary survey data with advanced econometric analysis, including Arellano–Bond GMM, it provides evidence-based insights into credit risk, asset quality, bank performance, governance, and NPL management, and offers policy recommendations and practical measures to prevent, manage, and reduce NPLs.
